We offer a range of courses, the following are currently active:

MLS LVAD

This is suitable for all healthcare professionals who may encounter a patient with a LVAD. We have had a mixture of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, sonographers and radiographers on our course previously. You will be taught everything you need to know on the course and no prior experience with LVADs is necessary.

We will provide certification lasting 4 years in the management of mechanical life support on successful completion of the course.

After enrolment to the course we will send you the pre-course reading including the algorithm to review at your own pace.

During the day we will train you to become confident in early mechanical life support and there will be on-going observational assessment in the simulation sessions.

At the end of the course we will ask you to complete a post course MCQ with a pass mark of 60% based on the curriculum. Successful candidates will receive the certificate of accreditation at the end of the course. If the pass mark is not met we will arrange individualised teaching after the course to assist with any areas needing improvement and give further opportunity to sit the MCQ or course.
